The campground offered is a primitive campground with water available at points. They aren't very challenging, but, offer lots of scenery you might not associate with western Indiana. All the trails offer rugged options, which I would recommend for all able bodied individuals. The other hiking trails are fantastic with lots of scenery. Due to some hiking areas that would require some body strength, I would discourage small children tagging along. The park provides a fantastic nature preserve good for all ages that are somewhat independent. This park is southwest of crawfordsville about 15 miles. The park is in a remote area on Sugar Creek and just west of Indian Creek. Verizon-no service, ATT- very spotty cell service and no data. The park is basically on the edge of nowhere leaving campers with no technology amenities. Hello campers, as you may have read in previous reviews, I am a tent camper. Turkey rin had several dozen cars on Mon. There was only one other car in the lot when I arrived and when I left on WED. I saw only one couple on one of the trails. Down the hill is a kyack camp and Sugar creek. I bet this place is full on the week end, There are 6 camp sites with picnic table and a fire rind. I called and they said a ranger comes out every night to collect the fee. Being week day off season the gate was not maned. The camp has a water faucet an outhouse and lean to with fire wood $5 bundle you put money in slot. The backpack trail has some steps few creeks to cross but fairly easy not alot to see. the where chalenging with a backpack but fun and short. I chose to do some other trails on the way I did 1 7,8. They have a backpackers trail with a backpacking camping area that you can only hike into, It is about 2,5 miles. I was at sister park Turkey runn and even on Monday morning it was crowded.
